Subcity

This City
So dark
says the dust to high;
This City
So grim
muse the nasty sky

Yet warmth showers, .. a Cold Desert Jewel;
This City
our story
a home to dwell.

And when you come 'down',
to my city of amorous joys.

Amidst a social chaos
And a prostituting religion,

Amidst crowded lanes
And six-lane high-ways,

Amidst the vote-earning slums
And hundred acre self-contained highrise,

Amidst vindictive politics
And countless crippled NGOs,

Amidst unemployed abstract poets
And son of a son of an engineer,

Amidst frequent bloggers
And banks using achaic telegraphic money transfers,

Amidst six hundred Chevrolet Optra
And thirty thousand Autorickshaws,

Amidst you
And amidst me.

I wonder where am I 'up' to,
My city of idealized dreams!

I guess this answers Manish'da!
(PS: besides some correction of grammatical mistakes and addition of some ornatory articles and words, the prose remains the same.)

Oh and I forgot to mention one thing!

Look who is talking of lucidity!
Refer: making-out-like-lemmings.html

I would like to quote from there: "Though I disagree that lucidity is a bane. Its just that being lucid is not really lucid enuough.

And the magnanimous irony lies in the fact that those who deliver lucidity, need a comparable intellect to do so."

All these interestingly reminds me of Shakespeare's Antonio. And the fall of Antonio was since "he started crediting his own lie." And the almost-fall of another Antonio... I guess I would be too blatant to exemplify that.

My..My...I am tingling with anticipation of a battle! Indeed - wait for the 20th - whence my true colours shall be revealed!
Beware the moment boy! For there are none to match my wrath!

And about the so-called self presumed battle, I have only one phraze (in bengali)...

"Holdey phooley phoring naachey"

Legend for non-bengali readers:
1. holdey = yellow coloured
2. phooley = flower
3. phoring = dragon-fly
4. naachey = dances.

amen (ahem) :-p
